How You Can Save Water This Summer

Whether Canada is ready to accept it, summer is coming.  I’ll admit, it also seems to leave after a brief moment every time it arrives.  However, soon summer will transition its day trips into a full-fledge staycation.  So here are a few tips to be waterwise this summer!

Watering Times

When is the best time to water?  I thought you’d never ask!  Late at night or very early in the morning are the two best times to water your flowers, grass, garden, piranha plants, etc.  Why?  Alright, I guess I thought you’d ask that because now you’re hooked and you  just have to know, don’t you?  Simple science: the ground has the chance to soak up the water before the sun can dry it up.  Plus, you may not guess this, but watering your garden in the hot sun can be potentially burn the yard.  So for flower’s sake yo, water at night or early morning!

Think Frozen, Think Big

Ice cubes in coolers is a thing of the past, right?  Well, if it isn’t in your past, now’s the time to make the switch!  Switch to what?  ICE BLOCKS.  Ice blocks keep your drinks and food colder longer.  We call that ice efficiency–or ice-fficiency!

Short, Snappy Showers

Especially in the summer, showers can be a tempting cool-down activity.  Keep your showers short and snappy!  Set a timer or ask Siri to tell you to get out of the shower.  Not that close with Siri?  Any app will do.
